Sadly, the Indian Grocery store, Suraj is now closed. The space is available to lease. Who knows what country will be move in next? Maybe a Vegetarian place?

Growing vegetables this summer is one of the many ways in which Justin and I have brainstormed to save money for backpacking. We are growing lots of vegetables! It is unclear to see how much money we will actually save at the grocery store in the next few months, but I know I’ve gotten some really cheap entertainment
out of watching them grow.
Other ways to save money include:
- cut coupons
- trim expenses
- don’t buy stuff
- cook most meals
- go vegetarian
- be a one car family
- only pay for cell phones - ditch the land line
- cut your own hair
- bring your own lunch
or snacks
- stay healthy
- don’t buy bottled water - carry a Nalgene (this one is BPA FREE)
- no magazine or newspaper subscriptions (they’re all at the library or Barnes & Noble)
- go green
- beyond a vegetable garden
- be creative

I enjoy the list of many ways we are able to save money to travel. Through our efforts in financial discipline I know that we are able to save a lot more money for our journey. We might be able to visit a special country and meet some really incredible people that we wouldn’t have had the opportunity to meet if we would have chosen to spend our money differently today.
